Why Do You Keep Failing?! ...And The SECRET To Success!

Why are we so quick to quote it and so slow to live it? When is the last time you set a goal, failed a few times, and then just gave up on the goal completely? I bet you're able to think of an example, we've all been there.

Most of us will never take massive action in our life. We will set a goal, we will try something, maybe even a few things, and if those don't work, we give up. We assume that is a sign from the universe that we're not supposed to keep going. We assume we set the wrong goal. Or worse, we assume we're just not good enough to reach the goal, we're not worthy and we're less than because of our failures.

I'm here (and happy) to tell you, all of that is bull shit. It's not that you're not worthy, or that you're not good enough, you're not even a "failure" because of a fail. It just means you stopped. It means you did not take MASSIVE action. You took some action, yes, but not enough.

You're thinking "but Adrienne, I tried everything, and it still didn't work out for me." Did you really try everything? How many things or times did you try? One, three, maybe five? That's not enough. Are you willing to try 50 times? 

Massive Action is doing something until the goal is reached. There is no stopping. There is no number of roadblocks or challenges that will stop you from achieving your goal. Achieving the goal is inevitable with massive action. It means not letting any failures or challenges deter you from trying again. 

So many times we use failures and challenges as a reason to stop trying. The universe & God are not telling you to stop, they're telling you that dedicated people will try harder. There are people out there that want to succeed so badly they will do anything to get there...those are the ones that take massive action, those are the people you think got lucky, those are the people we all really strive to be, but give up before we get there.

So, why aren't we taking massive action? If that's the key to achieving our dreams, it seems pretty simple and logical that more people would just do it!

The answer is fear. You're afraid. You're afraid of your goals, you're totally afraid of the journey, and you're afraid of what you'll miss out on if you take the journey. There are tons of ways that we rationalize our inaction. Evidence: You can't work on your website because you haven't cleaned off your desk. You can't start that running program until you get new shoes. Things are just hectic at home so you should just wait, it's not the right time to start a new business.Or maybe you’re just worried you’ll disappoint yourself again by quitting your new workout right after you start.

Do any of those sound familiar? It's super easy for us to find excuses to not take action. Any one can do that. Taking action is the harder part. No matter what it is, I can pretty much guarantee there’s some sort of fear lurking beneath whatever justification you’re giving yourself for not taking massive action on your dreams today.

And I want you to know that it’s completely okay...it's normal, but we're not staying there. We're not letting fear win.

Fear goes hand in hand with success. You’ll never unlock your potential if you hide within the shell of your comfort zone.

Here are my 5 tips to dominating fear and taking massive action to achieve your dreams:

  1. Get some fear perspective - think about something you've done in the past that you were super scared to do...and then you did it anyway...how did that feel? How does this task compare to that one? Channel that as inspiration, and know that whatever happens...Fear Won't Kill You.
  2. Don’t wait for perfect - the perfect time is hard to judge, how will you even know it's perfect? Usually it doesn't even exist. So, why wait for perfect? Just start now.
  3. Do the Work! - one foot in front of the other is the key here. You don't have to be overwhelmed with the entirety of the goal, just work on taking the first step. The first step is the hardest one and it will give you some momentum to tackle the rest, one step at a time!
  4. Stop Comparing - you don't need to compare yourself to everyone else, or even to your own expectations. Compare to where you’ve been and seek progress. 
  5. Create Baby Steps - you need smaller goals under your big goal. Big goals are great, but they don't get accomplished if we have no actionable steps to get there! Break it down. 

If you are setting goals in your life, what do they mean to you? Do they mean you try a few times and give up if things don't work out? Or do you set goals with true and inevitable success living behind them?

I want to encourage you to pick one of your goals (big or small) and promise me you'll take MASSIVE ACTION to achieve it. As in...you will not stop trying until it has manifested itself in your life, you will not stop until you've achieved the goal. No matter how many times it takes, you try until you succeed. You ready?
